To the Editor: The theme at the closing party during our school’s 2016 Youth Lab festival was a fun theme to include, for the year. The theme of the event was “Black Culture” and continued on a series of visual displays during the screening of a high school science fiction novel. Schools have been exposed to a variety of material in digital media and in our open report on tech conferences today, we’ve created a new media visual presentation with an event using the “Learning with Zoom” web field. The theme for the event was “Faster Response” which was inspired by the sci-fi film Empsons by Tom Schulze, a modern illustration. The visual presentation was created to offer the students the opportunity to take it to the next level, the goal being to interact with audiences using PowerPoint presentations. The subject matter of the visual presentation was “Diversity and Identity” and the theme was “Thought-Work.” We continue to work on a series of images taken by students to illustrate this theme as we include advanced visual examples. While we anticipate improving the presentation for the “Black Culture” theme, we’re aiming to incorporate color images as part of the color theme of the 2016 workshop.
