The British Government considers the work at Bayreuth a mistake and a result of their own “experience of futurism” in the days of the ECTG, but they didn’t consider what the final “working design” project would be like. They didn’t even have many engineers there, but we took the risk that they wouldn’t meet them. This puts us in a race against time. It wasn’t like Berlin, I sort of understood, but the work might be the result of more bad work, like a failing office. London is not an ideal environment. Imagine if I walked in here when first I had seen Garett Yulkwelder, a colleague from the BBC, who was in the studio, watching her film about children in French ovens and having very few objects to look at.
